Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-30
Free Simple Apps built SipLife as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by Free Simple Apps and is intended for use as is. Direct mode is free; push mode is a paid subscription.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, such as the details of the SIP account you connect. The information that we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy.
The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you.

- Google Play Services
- Google Analytics for Firebase
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications on Android)
- Apple Push Notification service (push notifications on iPhone)
Calls, messages and your SIP account
SipLife is a phone for a SIP account you already have with a SIP provider or an office PBX. Each account in the app works in one of two modes, and what reaches our server depends on the mode.
Direct mode
- The phone registers with your provider itself. Our server takes no part in the account's calls or messages.
- Your SIP account details and password, your call log and your messages are kept on your phone only.
Contacts
If you allow access to your contacts, SipLife reads their names, numbers and photos to show who is calling and to search while you dial. It keeps them in the phone's memory and never writes them to logs. Contacts are not sent to our server.
Push mode
In push mode our server keeps the registration with your provider for you and wakes your phone with a push notification when a call or a message comes in. For that our server stores:
- your SIP account details (provider address, domain, user name) and your provider password, which is encrypted at rest; the encryption key is kept apart from the database and is never in a backup;
- the password and access tokens your phone uses to sign in to our server: the password encrypted at rest, the tokens only as a one-way hash;
- your phone's push token and its registration state (the phone's network address and when the registration expires). If the registration lapses, the push token is kept for up to 7 days so that a call can still wake the phone.
Calls of a push-mode account pass through our server, both the signalling and the audio. Between your phone and our server they are always encrypted (TLS and SRTP); between our server and your provider we use what your provider supports. The state of a call in progress is kept in memory only and is not saved.
To wake your phone for a call, our server sends a push notification through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) or Apple Push Notification service (iPhone). It carries the caller's number and name and the account being called, and passes through Google's or Apple's service. A push about a new message carries neither the sender nor the text.
When your phone cannot be reached, our server keeps an incoming text message, encrypted, until it is delivered, for at most 7 days; then the message is deleted.
What we do not keep
- We do not record the audio of calls.
- Our server keeps no call history and no message history. Message text is kept only until delivery, as described above. Your call log and conversations are kept on your phone.
Removing an account
When you remove a push-mode account from the app, or switch it to direct mode, the app tells our server. The server deletes that phone's push token and registration and revokes its access tokens. When no other phone uses the account, the server also deletes the account with its encrypted passwords and any undelivered messages, and ends its registration with your provider.
If the app is deleted without removing the account first, our server removes that phone after 30 days without a registration.
Our server makes a backup every night and keeps the last 7; we keep the copies we take from it for 30 days. Passwords in a backup stay encrypted, and the key is not in the backup. Data deleted from the server disappears from all backups within about 30 days.
Log Data
We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
Our push server also keeps technical logs of its own work: registrations, push notifications, call routing and errors. These logs include network (IP) addresses. Passwords, tokens, message text and encryption keys are never written to them, and phone numbers and SIP addresses are masked to their last three characters. The logs are rotated by size and deleted after at most 14 days.
Cookies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.
This Service does not use these "cookies" explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use "cookies" to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Service;
- To provide the Service on our behalf;
- To perform Service-related services; or
- To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
Our push server runs on a virtual server rented from OVH.
We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to your Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. Calls and messages between the app and our server travel over TLS, with SRTP for audio, and stored passwords and messages are encrypted. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
